1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background.

I'm an artist doing mainly portrait work, but i love digital painting now, and attempting comic art. Besides Star Wars, Superman is my other favorite character. I love anything and everything Superman. I work out everyday to keep fit for costuming roles and just because it feels great. I've worked on National Treasure 2, doing the main hero book props. Id love to do more movie work, or anything art related in my future (just graduated school so im figuring that all out )

2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had?

I started end of 2005 and joined the Connecticut garrison of the 501st legion as anakin, which was the best decision of my life. Ive had more fun in the last 2-3 years costuming then ever before. Its brought me closer to so many people around the globe, creating great friendships, and letting me see other places around the country, and hopefully the world soon. I also was able to meet a local friend ( jedi-J) who is my ep 3 obiwan, which makes it alot more fun to be Anakin. Besides 3 variations of Anakin, i have a Bespin duel Luke, Raiders Indiana Jones, Superman Dean Cain suit, and a Smallville Clark Kent costume.

3) What's your earliest memory of seeing the Star Wars movies?

I always had this flashing image of the bridge shoot out in ANH. Only thing i could picture was blackness and two doorways with people shooting at each other. I NEVER knew what it was, but i knew it was something amazing. At age 10 my dad bought Star Wars for me and it all clicked finally, and i feel inlove with the films right then.

4) When did you get your first Jedi/Anakin Costume and what made you chose it?

I made a generic jedi saber myself, which led to a generic costume, which led to someone telling me if i made an anakin costume i could join the 501st. So i eventually gave in after realizing i looked close enough to Anakin, and it only became more apparent as i worked on perfecting all the details. Hes the youthful character that i could relate to best in the films, and i sympathized with everything he did even going to the darkside.

5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Anakin Skywalker?

Being picked to be Anakin for the Star Wars Spectacular in the Tournament of Roses Parade (new years 07). It was such an honor to represent Anakin for Lucasfilm, especially with my own costume. Walking a parade route infront of 3million + people live and 10 million on tv, was INSAINE. A whole grandstand bleacher of people yelled " WE LOVE ANAKIN", it was amazing to feel that much love from people for Anakin and for star wars. Oh yea and I got to meet George Lucas!

6) Any final words?

If anyone trys to tell you its dorky or geeky to costume just tell them this: Its no different than someone painting their face for a game and wearing their favorite players jersey, its the SAME EXACT THING. Its all what you love and what makes you happy. Always have fun costuming!
