1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background.
I have always loved recreating stuff I saw in movies. The first thing I ever built was a proton pack from GhostBusters made from a cereal box when I was 3. Now, In my spare time I make replica movie (and now TV) props and costumes.
2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had?
Technically since I was around 3 years old. But only with in the last 4 years have I being doing it with any quality to it.
3) What's your earliest memory of seeing the Star Wars movies?
The very earliest memory I have of it is seeing the very end of Empire on TV when I was about 4. I just remember the mechanical hand being installed and the ships flying away. I had no clue what it was until the 90s video release when I recognized the footage.
4) When did you get your first Jedi/Anakin Costume and what made you chose it?
My first jedi costume was a karate gi and a towel for an obi. I wore that to go see Ep 1. My first Anakin outfit I made myself but it needed alot of help. I chose to dress as Anakin because I liked his almost playful attitude to becoming a Jedi. Because he started later in life he didn't fully understand the comittment it takes.
5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Anakin Skywalker?
My favorite memory appearing as Anakin would have to be the 2006 FIDM Runway show. Not only did I get to walk down a Runway with real LucasFilm costumes following me, But it was the first experience with other costumers outside of my own city.
6) Any final words?
To all who are thinking of joining any costuming group. Costuming is wonderful hobby. Its a lot of fun and a great way to meet other people. But, to seperate yourselves from the casual Halloween store bought look, it takes time and a lot of patience. And it is definately worth it!
